Saskatoon-based Artist Monique Martin handcrafts these butterflies using paper engineering and printmaking techniques. Each is affixed on a branch and placed in a glass dome. Dome measures approximately 19.5 x 10cm. As each piece is handmade so colour, size and shape variation will occur.  \"2020 has been a year of transformation for everyone. We move differently in our world. We think differently about all situations and we have had to adapt to constantly changing information, protocols and restrictions. Like the butterfly, we are having to transform. [These domes] use paper butterflies as a symbol of the transformation we have gone through. Monique Martin is a multi-disciplinary based artist in Saskatoon, Canada. Monique has exhibited printmaking, paintings, sculptures, installations, and book works in more than 200 significant solo, invited, and juried group exhibitions in ten countries. Her works shown here incorporate linocut printmaking, paper engineering, collected objects, and natural materials.
