Remai Modern Collection Calendar 2025
Remai Modern Collection Calendar 2025
Description
This gorgeous 12-month calendar features full-colour images of works by artists including Lawren Harris, Dorothy Knowles, Bob Boyer, Emily Carr and many more.
Over the past six decades, Remai Modern, and its predecessor, the Mendel Art Gallery, have been building a public art collection. Modest in its origin, the collection started with a single work: Henri Masson’s small oil painting The Blue House, donated to the Saskatoon Art Centre in 1947.
As former staff member Helen “Bubs” Coleman recounted in her book, Dreaming a Gallery, “When the Mendel Art Gallery opened in 1964, curator-director John Climer joked that the gallery’s permanent collection was so small that he moved in with one painting under each arm.” However, some 50 years later, Remai Modern now houses more than 8,000 works. A public art collection is akin to those we form in our homes, representing the various people, ideas, and practices we care about. With this calendar, we invite you to bring a piece of Remai Modern’s collection into your own home.
