REMAI MODERN LAUNCHES ITS FIRST ARTIST EDITION
Amalie Atkins
The Diamond Eye Assembly: A Map of Locations, 2019
Eight-colour screen print on Stonehenge paper, 21 x 19 inches
Edition of 50
Printed by Michael Peterson, Void
Remai Modern’s first artist edition shines a light on the creative process of Saskatoon artist Amalie Atkins. The screen print is derived from a collaged map Atkins’ created in reference to her recent trilogy of films The Diamond Eye Assembly. It points to both fictional and real locations in Saskatchewan and provides clues about the topography, characters and action in her work.
The limited, 50-edition run was printed by Michael Peterson from Saskatoon’s Void Gallery and consists of eight layers of hand-mixed archival ink on cotton rag paper. It is available for purchase in the museum’s Art & Design Store while supplies last.
