Our first full rainbow from the earth! Six new colors, made with natural earth pigments, two from Manitoulin Island.

Salamander is made with red clay from central Manitoulin, Chickadee is Yellow ochre from a cliff overlooking treasure island near our workshop, Northern Pike is yellow ochre mixed with natural indigo and natural mica, Lake Trout is a sparkle made with natural mica steeped with indigofera tinctoria plant, Steelhead is a warm grey ochre and natural mica, and River Rock is violet earth and natural mica. 

Available as individual colours or in a set of 7 (7th Colour is our preexisting Shell Mica paint) packing neatly in a circular tin!

We couldn't be prouder of the gentle but serious shimmer these all natural pigments have provided. All mica is ethically sourced, meaning we can trace this pigment to its mine, and we know that the workers and the environment were treated with care.

Beam Paints results from a multi-generational love of pigment, paint, colour, and innovation. I was raised by my artist parents, Carl Beam and Ann Beam, and was taught from a young age how to harvest hematite pigment in the LaCloche mountain range near our home in M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. Beam Paints draws on her early education in Indigenous pigment and expands it to encompass all paint traditions. A focus on high-quality pigment content creates sublime artist materials, with plastic-free packaging.
