Description
This unique rainbow sun catcher makes a beautiful addition to any room. Each strip of color is measured and cut by hand, arranged side by side on a base of clear glass and fused to become one flat piece of glass. Through a second and final kiln firing, it is draped over a rounded ceramic mold to achieve the curved shape. In 7 beautiful jewel tones, when the light passes through the transparent glass, it creates a colored rainbow shadow on the surface below. The gentle curved design allows this vase to stand alone on any flat, stable surface. Color: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua, Blue, Purple Size: 5"W x 1.75"H x 2"D.
Heather Lagos is a kiln formed glass artist. She creates funcational art from her studio in Cochrane, Alberta as Haven Glass Studio.. he puts her own unique twist on fused glass. Her pieces are fired in a kiln at a range of high temperatures. Each piece is cut by hand from sheets of glass, stacked, and then fused or “melted” together in a kiln. The process of kiln-forming glass can take anywhere from 8 hours and up to 36 hours or more for a single firing, though her pieces often return to the kiln several times to get the desired effect before each one is complete.
