Autumn, Bon Echo Arthur Lismer Greeting Card
Autumn, Bon Echo Arthur Lismer Greeting Card
Description
Individual 5"x7" Greeting Card with white envelope featuring work by Canadian Artist Arthur Lismer.
A founding member of the Group of Seven, Arthur Lismer emigrated from England after receiving his art training in Europe. He was fascinated by the rugged Canadian landscape with its expansive stretches of water and sky. After working at Grip Limited in Toronto, he went on to hold a number of positions as an educator and became a leading figure in children’s art education.
Autumn, Bon Echo is characteristic of the organic style and spiritual connection with the landscape that embodies the work of the Group of Seven. This painting is a strong example of what Lismer is best known for: deliberately course brushwork, heavy impasto, and bold colours. Today, Bon Echo is a provincial park in South Central Ontario. It has long been a favourite destination for painters and photographers.
